(1) Erbium(III) oxide is used as additives for magnetic materials and phosphors, it is the raw materials for special luminous glass.
 
(2) Erbium(III) oxide is mainly used as yttrium iron garnet dopants and control materials for nuclear reactors. It can also be used to make special luminous glass and infrared-absorbing glass. Also, Erbium(III) oxide is used as a glass colorant to make the glass rose red.
